NEWS! We are hiring a Junior Project Coordinator (Part-Time)
Are you organized, creative, reliable, and a playful โYes, andโฆโ kind of person?
We might have a job for YOU! ๐๐
Griottes Polyglottes Arts & EDI Society is a Vancouver-based nonprofit organization.
We gratefully acknowledge that we live, work, and play on the unceded traditional territories of the xสทmษฮธkสทษyฬษm (Musqueam), Sแธตwxฬฑwรบ7mesh (Squamish), and sษlilwษtaษฌ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
Through storytelling, theatre, improv, and playful activities, we help youth and immigrants build confidence, find their voice, and stand up against racism, discrimination, and bullying.
We believe meaningful learning doesn't have to be boring, mistakes are part of growing, and a little laughter can go a long way!
๐ญ Youth Voices in School: Helping youth explore bullying and discrimination through Forum Theatre.
๐ค Black Voices at Work: Using interactive theatre to address anti-Black racism in the workplace.
You'll have responsibilities of your own, but you won't be expected to figure everything out alone.
We'll provide guidance, feedback, and opportunities to grow your skills along the way.
Project coordination (your main role)
Help plan and coordinate workshops, activities, schedules, and deadlines
Communicate with schools, artists, youth, and community partners
Keep track of tasks, follow up with people, and help keep projects moving
Contribute creative ideas to educational activities and resources
Collect feedback, document results, and help prepare project reports
Help create a portfolio so we can bring our programs to more communities
Workshop facilitation (occasionally) ๐ญ
Sometimes, you'll get to step away from your computer and join the fun in person!
After receiving training, you may help facilitate workshops using storytelling, Forum Theatre, role-play, and improv games.
No previous facilitation experience required. We'll train you! ๐
You don't need to have all the answers with 25 years of experience and 12 degrees.ย
But there are a few things that matter to us!
You speak and write French and English
You're organized, reliable, and can manage your priorities
You care deeply about challenging racism, discrimination, and bullying
You enjoy working with people from different backgrounds
You're curious, creative, and comfortable asking questions
You're based in Vancouver or the surrounding area and can travel to schools across BC when needed
Experience in project coordination, community programs, education, arts, or nonprofit organizations is a BONUS!
And one thing that's especially important to us:
You don't need to be an expert in anti-racism or have all the answers. But you should be willing to listen, learn, challenge your own assumptions, and contribute to meaningful change.
๐ฐ $25/hour
๐ก Mostly remote, with occasional in-person meetings and school visits across BC
โฐ Part-time: Approximately 20 hours/week initially
๐ Possible transition to a Full-time: April 2027 to March 2028
๐ Start date: As soon as possible
๐ Training and guidance provided to help you learn and grow
We take our mission seriously, but we don't believe we have to take ourselves seriously ALL the time!
You can bring your strengths, your quirks, your curiosity, and even your terrible dad or mum jokes. ๐
Perfect? Imperfect? Introvert? Extrovert? Somewhere in between? You're welcome here!
We believe in learning by doing, supporting each other, celebrating progress, and making room for laughter along the way.
Don't wait until you feel 100% qualified to apply.
If you meet the essential requirements, care about our mission, enjoy organizing projects, and are excited to learn, we'd love to hear from you!
